Our Terms and Conditions at Ecomama and Cocomama:
Arrivals, Departures and Stays
Check-in time at Ecomama and Cocomama is from 4pm to 10pm. Check out time is before 11am. If you arrive between 10pm and 9am, please reach us via the phone number provided in your booking confirmation email when you are at the front door, so our night receptionist can open the door for you. Please note that there is an additional charge of €10 for late check-in after 10pm.
At Ecomama and Cocomama guests can stay for a maximum of 7 days in a 28-day period.
Age Restrictions and Groups.
Bookings cannot be accepted from any person under the age of 18 unless they are accompanied by an adult (18 or over). Guests who wish to bring their children under 16 years of age must book a whole dorm or private room. For guests aged 16 or 17 years of age, they can book into one of dorm rooms but must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18 or over). We do not have a maximum age…just 18-the young at heart! 😉
Please note we do not accept bookings of groups larger than six people. If you decide to make a booking for your group anyway, we retain the right to cancel your booking without a refund.
Bookings
Bookings can be requested via Ecomama’s or Cocomama’s website, as well as by contacting our staff at the hostels.
For bookings in a dormitory, our staff will attempt to put people travelling together in the same room, but this cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of hostels. If you want to make sure that you aren’t separated from your group, we suggest booking a private room or securing the entire dorm.
Cancellation Policies
Non-refundable rates: This rate offers no flexibility on your booking along with a 15% discount. Non-refundable bookings cannot be changed or cancelled are prepaid. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
Semi flexible rates: This rate offers flexibility on your booking up to 7 days prior to arrival along with a 10% discount. Booking can be cancelled free of charge up 7 days before arrival. The total price of the reservation will be charged 7 days prior to arrival- You will be charged in the local currency of the property. If you notify us any less than 7 days before your arrival date, or in case of a no-show, you will not be entitled to a refund.
If the total value of a single booking is greater than or equal to €1,000.00, a non-refundable 20% deposit will be required at the time of the booking regardless of the rate type selected. The remaining 80% will be paid 7 days before arrival (same condition applied to all rates).
Fees and Payments
City tax of 12.5% is not included in the room rate and will be added to your balance.
Please note that the city tax of Amsterdam increased from 7% to 12.5% on 1 January 2024. For all stays in 2024, the price will be updated to reflect this change.
Ecomama and Cocomama are cashless hostels. The following payment methods are accepted by the hostels: Mastercard, iDEAL, Visa card payments.
Ecomama and Cocomama rules
Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the Ecomama and Cocomama buildings and carries a hefty €250 fine, so we wouldn’t recommend it!
Any guest found using drugs will be asked to leave the hostel. A refund won’t be issued. (Drugs are bad mmmkay!?)
Any guest who, in the opinion of our staff, compromises the comfort, safety or security of other guests, staff or local residents will be asked to leave the hostel premises and will not be given a refund.
Guests are expected to respect other guests as well as staff, local residents and property. Mama raised you well!
Guests will be expected to reimburse the hostel for any damage caused by inappropriate behaviour during their stay.
Refunds
In the event of Force Majeure (governmental action, transportation interruption, terrorist attack, acts of God…) affecting your booking, Ecomama and Cocomama are unable to refund customers and we reserve the right to receive any outstanding payments in connection to your confirmed booking.
Errors and omissions
Any omission or error in sales literature, web pages/sites, order form, quotation, price list, order acknowledgement, dispatch note, invoice or other documents issued by us may be corrected by us without liability. We will advise you of any changes at the time of booking or as soon as is reasonably possible thereafter.
Four legged friends
Pets are allowed in the hostels in private rooms. For more information, please do not hesitate to contact our staff.
Personal Data
Ecomama and Cocomama will only store and use information you supply to us, or which is supplied to us for the purposes of carrying out a contract with you and to inform you of other services and offers which we make available from time to time.
