With summer in full swing, we asked our owner, Anika Jacobs, to share her favourite outdoor café’s. She's not much around, but when in town, you'll find her flocking with her girls, mom or international visitors on a sunny terrace. Put on your sunglasses, get on your bike, and follow Ms. Anika while she takes us through her favourite summer spots in Amsterdam.

1. Hanneke's Boom

A once-seventeenth-century-guardhouse turned into one of the city’s most relaxed water-front cafés. This place offers a chill vibe throughout the day and a more lively atmosphere after sunset. Drinks are basic – think wine, beers and pitchers, the DJ’s make you want to hit the dance floor and the crowd is eclectic.

Come here to hang out with good friends.

2. Brouwerij 't IJ

A small local brewery which serves their own organic brews. It’s a little outside the city-center, which makes for a nice bike-ride. They have a huge outdoor terrace made of wooden benches and tables, and the old windmill next door makes the place picture perfect.

Come here with your international friends, they'll love it.
Funenkade 7, Amsterdam

3. Blauwe Theehuis

This spot can call the Vondelpark it's backyard. Located in a 1930' modernist building, the Blauwe Theehuis is a great place to enjoy an afternoon tea in the park.

Bring your mom here. The perfect place to chit-chat in the sunshine.

4. Lion Noir

A lovely garden tucked away in the heart of the city. Their cocktails are delicious and wine-menu is extensive. The French-inspired food is great too, in case you want to stay for dinner. And if it gets late (and chilly outside), their bar downstairs boasts an open fire-place. Super cozy.

Bring your girls or a date.
